THE Adrian McKindy was born in 1968 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He studied philosophy at Oxford University, before moving to New York in 1993. Since 2008 he has lived in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and children. The "Cold soil", the first book in the series starring police officer Sean Duffy, won the 2013 Spinetingler literary magazine award for best novel by an emerging authorIn 2017, McKindy was honored with Edgar Award for the novel "Rain Dogs", the fifth book in the series. This is the sixth book in the series.
