The famous ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle began his writings when Greek philosophy had already been around for over 200 years. During this time, the Presocratics tried to explain the composition of the world by searching nature for the material from which everything came. This material was for some water, for others soil, for some fire and for some air. Ultimately, Democritus was the one who discovered the atom. On the other hand, the Sophists studied man himself and his intellectual achievements, which prompted Socrates to deal with the laws that govern the human spirit, and to define all things with concepts. His student, Plato, followed, who arrived at ideas and considered everything to be their imitations. Along the way, Aristotle relied on the achievements of Greek philosophy and shaped his philosophy into a science of concepts.
