A respectable widow, mother of two, announces through an advertisement that... she is unaware of how she became pregnant. In the stifling morality of the strict society of the 19th century, such an event, in addition to being a scandal and a stigma, is also a threatening riddle that is not allowed to have an answer. The Kleist, with his characteristic intensity, weaves a story that is deeply unconventional, heartbreaking and ironic at the same time; a bold narrative about female dignity, unspoken violence, the ambiguity of love and morality.

THE CREATOR
THE Heinrich von Kleist (1777–1811) was a German dramatist and prose writer of the Romantic period, known for the intense psychological and moral conflict in his works. He was born in Frankfurt an der Oder and lived a restless life of travel and hardship. He died in 1811 near Berlin, committing suicide.
