Clive Barker was born in Liverpool in 1952. Writer of the plays. Weaving Cosmos, The Always Thief, Books of Blood, Cursed Game, The Inhuman Condition, In the Flesh, Cabal, Imagica, The Great Secret Spectacle, Aeipolis and The Ancient Mystery, he is considered one of the leading horror and fantasy novelists. In 1985 he was awarded the World Fantasy Award. Beyond his writing work, which, in addition to novels, includes short stories and screenplays.
He is also an illustrator, director and producer of theater and cinema. He has directed Nightbreed, Lord of Illusions, the Candyman series and the Hellraiser trilogy, among others. His paintings are regularly exhibited in Los Angeles and New York. His most recent works include the Oscar-winning Gods and monsters and an exhibition of erotic paintings and photographs entitled: The weird and the wicked. The author lives in Los Angeles.
