The story takes place in the mythical world of Troy and is narrated by its central hero, Lanfest.
Troy is a world where magic is part of everyday life. This planet is inhabited by humans, trolls, and other more or less vicious creatures. Every human being possesses a magical ability, large or small, more or less useful. One can turn water into ice, another can heal wounds… Lanfest can ignite metals with his gaze. In his village, he took advantage of his "talent" to forge metals, which is why he is also an apprentice blacksmith.
But his contact with a sword from the distant baronies awakens an incredible power within him: absolute, limitless power. Accompanied by the elder wizard Nikolidis and his two very different daughters, Lanfest sets out on a journey to Ecmul, where he believes the town's wise men will explain his newfound power.
But along the way, he finds himself trapped in a maze of adventures, where he meets the most dangerous, surprising and unknown creatures...
The title is a creation of Christophe Arleston (scenario - dedication HERE) and Didier Tarquin (plan - dedication HERE). It was first released in 1994 and became a great success, as a result of which it was awarded in 2000 in Angouleme and new series and spin-offs followed. The series ends in 8 albums (which can be read independently) and has been translated into German, Dutch and Spanish, but not into English.
The Lanfest saga has already established itself as a classic fantasy adventure and has gained a fanatical following.
