THE BOOK
Is there a more valuable commodity than the time we (don't) have at our disposal?;
In On the Brevity of Life, a text that seems incredible to have been written two thousand years ago, the prominent Stoic philosopher Seneca, drawing on Epicurean, Platonic, and Cynic philosophy, reminds us how simple but also how rare it is to live truly, away from unnecessary worries and false needs.
THE CREATOR
Seneca (Leucius Annaeus Seneca, c. 4 BC–65 AD) was a Roman philosopher, writer, and politician, one of the most important representatives of Stoicism. He was a teacher and advisor to the emperor Nero and exerted a great influence on Roman intellectuals. His works focus on ethics, self-control, the management of the passions, and the art of living well.
