Sponge – Three Stories With Wine and Lament

What is the connecting link between the couple who choose a garbage can to worship, a young lady determined to grab the prime minister by the genitals, and the zookeeper who discovers a strange, underground connection with the newly arrived tiger? What is the commonality between these seemingly unrelated narratives? Nothing else, except that they are three tiny particles of water, which, passing through the saturated mass of the enormous sponge, at some point find themselves somewhere close, if not right next to, the lines of the other person who is reading them at that moment.
