It's up to you of Marcus Aurelius is a philosophical achievement and a stoic hymn to life: they remind us that there is no prayer more heard than gratitude and no greater purpose than understanding and kindness.

Nineteen centuries after it was written, this diary, which he wrote on the front lines to cheer himself up, remains as relevant as ever, and we feel lucky to be able to dive into the inner pool of a great man.

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus (121-180 AD), the last of the "five good emperors" of Rome, ascended the throne at the age of 40, and although his reign was marked by constant warfare, it was characterized overall by stability and prosperity. But beyond his governmental and legislative work, Marcus Aurelius developed into one of the most important Stoic philosophers. It's up to you, which were not intended for publication, were written over a period of ten years and were first printed in Zurich in 1558, from a manuscript copy now lost.

Anastasia Kalliontzi attributes to this volume a new translation from the ancient Greek.
