THE BOOK
The Holy Quran is the central sacred text of Islam and one of the most influential works in the course of human history. Written in Arabic in the 7th century AD, Muslims recognize it as the authentic and unchangeable word of Allah, as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through the messenger Jibril (Archangel Gabriel).
The revelation spans a period of 23 years – from 609 AD, when Muhammad was 40 years old, to 632, the year of his emigration. Since then, the Quran has maintained its place as a source of spiritual reflection and inspiration for millions of people around the world, while also attracting the interest of scholars and readers who wish to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic culture and philosophy.
This edition, with particular attention and respect for the original, invites the reader to approach a text that has shaped cultures and to reflect on timeless questions of human existence. A luxurious hardcover edition-a point of reference.
