Event on the occasion of the release of the book "The Arrival" October 11, 2021 – Posted in: Event – Tags: Shaun Tan, The arrival
Fourfouri Publications invites you on Wednesday, October 13 at 19:00 at the Cafe in the Garden of the Numismatic Museum to an event on the occasion of the release of the book "The arrival", by award-winning author Shaun Tan.
The illustrated book "The arrival" describes without words, only with pictures, the story of a man, who gives his wife and daughter a last kiss. He boards a steamship and crosses the ocean. The most painful yet most important journey of his life begins – he leaves his homeland to build a better future for his family. He will travel alone to a mysterious land, a place without family and friends, where nothing has a name and the future remains uncertain.
The famous Australian creator pays tribute to all those who, leaving everything behind, dared to stray.
The alien story of "Arrival" deals with such a topical issue for our time, mainly because of the immigration issue.
The following will speak at the event:
- Geli Aronis, Head of Unit for Integration and Support of Unaccompanied Minors / Special Secretariat for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors
- Zoe Koskinidou, journalist & creator of the online magazine "Red Fox", which deals exclusively with issues related to children's books
- Mohammad Hadid Mohegan, mentor-member of the "Mentorship" program of the Special Secretariat for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors
