Consistent - as always - in their quality releases and combined with the new Disney + TV series (starring Jeremy Renner & Hailee Steinfeld) the OXY publications release their amazing run in a tasteful version Fraction & Aja to Hawkeye. Titled "My Life as a Weapon" (My Life as a Weapon) the comic follows the adventures of the familiar to all of us Clint Barton (Hawkeye) but in which his companion in the adventure Kate also participates Bishop (The female version of him Hawkeye).

The edition includes issues # 1-5 of the series as well as the Young Avengers Presents issue # 6, showing how the original met Hawkeye along with his replacement in arrows and the name Kate Bishop.
The series is one of those runs that from the first moment you start reading you understand that:

  1. The author writes like fan boy (or at least knows and respects the character he was given to write) and
  2. That surely what you are reading is good and will soon be included in the list of definitive stories of the hero.

Hawkeye

And I really felt both of these things when I started reading his stories Fraction to Hawkeye. You want the air of freshness that the comic exudes from its first frames (design and script), you want the innovative narrative that makes you think you are living at that moment what you are reading, you want the Fraction is in high spirits and mixes noir with pure superhero adventure - but nowhere to see characters with superpowers! - but at the same time perfectly combines emotion, humor and drama in a comic whose characters seem more human and real than ever before ! Clint & Kate's amazing chemistry, how they can be the same even with their opposites (they think diametrically opposite but agree somewhere in the middle!), the informal big brother/little sister relationship (where the roles are often reversed though! ) make the reader love these characters with their imperfections and feel familiar with them even if they had never read a single comic of theirs before.

And that's the success of Fraction, the fact that the comic appeals to both old readers who have read hundreds of stories with Hawkeye, as well as to those who had never read comics and knew the character only from their movies Avengers... But surely both new and old readers will see a Hawkeye like they have never read before!

Hawkeye

His plan David Aja, an amazing combination of David Mazzucchelli and Marcos Martin, takes off (especially in the action scenes) the dynamic script of Fraction and together with the wonderful color palette with the minimalist layouts constitute an endless visual pleasure and a work that you want to read more than once to enjoy it! In issues 4-5 his art Javier Pulido tries - and partially succeeds - to stay within the style of the comic of the previous issues.

It's one of those comics that you'll have a good time reading, just like the people who created it had a good time! It is published in Greek from the OXY publications (as we mentioned above), translated by Mr. Savvas Argyrou and at a very good price.
Look for it!!
