The story is narrated by a little girl. She talks about her dad, with whom they can do everything together. Her dad finds a way to make her laugh. Even when he has a lot of work, he makes time for it. She is at her best when they try new things together. Thanks to him, the biggest sadness becomes a sweet memory in the end...
A picture book of those we love to read. Soosh crafts a story that's every word overflowing with love for her dad. With her pencils, she creates a dad different from the dads we are used to in children's books: unkempt, overweight. A dad that many children have surely met, could perhaps be their own dad. The white background lets the text breathe and focuses on the images that have a lot to say. The image is magical that while father and daughter sleep in different houses, their souls are together. What is really impressive is that despite his enormous size, dad can do everything: Hide behind a small sheet, squat or sit on a small stool, fit under the table... Nothing is impossible, unrealized for the father of the little heroine. The book is an excellent suggestion not only for reading or as a gift on Father's Day, but for companionship and a valuable treasure in every dad's drawer, when moments come when he questions, gets angry, wonders...
Soosh is a self-taught artist from Europe. "My Dad" (the illustrations for this book were done with watercolors on special paper) is her first illustrated book, which started as a series of illustrations she uploaded on Instagram and managed to move hundreds of thousands of fans. And not without reason, of course. Words and images are uniquely married and offer a book of high aesthetics.
