"I like to be bored" - a wonderful book that you never get bored of! June 21, 2022 – Posted in: Books, Children – Tags:

The wonderful book by Ingrid Chabbert and Sebastian Chebret, published by Fourfouri publications, gives suggestions and ideas to the most "annoying" (sometimes for parents) question of children when they don't know what to do and when they "shout" "I'm bored"!

It is summer, here and now, but also in our book, where a group of children play, have fun, do various things but sometimes they get bored and then they whine and complain. Not all of them though. Not the little heroine in the book, who not only doesn't whine or complain, but really enjoys being bored as it's something she really likes.

This book, and especially its little heroine, finally come to put things in their right place and restore the value and meaning of a verb that is annoying for some or extremely useful for others, which is none other than "I'm bored" - but also the synonyms of it, such as boredom and boredom.

Especially during holidays, many children (and also parents) do not know how to occupy themselves or how to spend their free time or the time that is not (over)filled with obligations and planned activities.

We live in a time when children's daily lives are quite stressful and they are forced to cram a lot of things into their day. From school subjects to hobbies, sports, foreign languages. And when they suddenly find themselves with free time, they don't know what to do.

Or maybe they don't know what to do first? From the blessing of doing nothing – that is, doing nothing, what the Italians aptly call dolce far niente, many little nothings perhaps make a great and precious something…

This is how the little girl in the story thinks, in text by Ingrid Chabbert and illustrations by Sebastian Chebret published by Fourfouri publications, which guides us through the wonderful and not at all boring world of boredom... In the hours when she can draw, count her teeth of her dog, she can strike up a conversation with unusual interlocutors, she can take part in strange competitions or break records or achieve a thousand and two strange things...

Somehow not only does she not mind being bored but she enjoys it and finally manages to never get bored... And not only that, her enthusiasm for all the things she can do when she's bored is so contagious that she manages to introduce her friends too in the fascinating universe of boredom.

If you too have a problem with managing your free time or don't know how to spend your vacation days and before you get angry with the verb "bored" read the book "I like to be bored" and find and make and enrich your own list of everything you like to do when you're bored and you'll find that this summer you won't be bored at all.

But even if you get bored again, this will be an important victory and an amazing experience, since sometimes doing nothing is important to empty yourself from fatigue and fill up with energy, eliminate anxiety and stress and charge your body with dreams, ideas or memories!

I hope you have a wonderfully boring summer!
