Since he began punishing crime, Batman has quickly come to see much of humanity's dark side – though it was nothing to what now emerges from the shadows laughing out loud: a grinning figure with a face as white as chalk , whose madness threatens to wipe out everything in its path.

For the defender of Gotham City, the first contact with the creature called the Joker will be the ultimate test – a battle that will decide his ongoing struggle against the forces of chaos and insanity.
