Terror in Dunwich

Without the traveler knowing why, he hesitates to ask for directions from the rosy, lonely figures that appear here and there on the crumbling head-stairs or in the stony pastures on the slopes. These figures are so silent and fleeting that one feels that one is confronted with something dangerous, something that had better have nothing to do with one.
