A LITTLE INTRODUCTION
AESTHETICS
Bence Nanay
In the book "A SHORT INTRODUCTION: Aesthetics", The Bence Nanay, examines both Western and non-Western aesthetic traditions and explores the reasons some consider it too elitist.
The aesthetic does not favor high art over comedy, tattoos or punk rock, but develops in all aspects of life. It does not function as an evaluative filter that separates arts or experiences into good and bad. An experience that is positively evaluated by the person who experiences it, automatically becomes an object of aesthetics. This narrative opens windows for interesting searches about aesthetics and the role of aesthetic values in our personal lives.
