What happens to a family when they are shaken by something unspeakably horrible, something so shocking that the whole world wants to know? No one knows exactly what drove Tommy Stefanos to do what he did that night. His family, her clumsy, controversial love? Some kind of curse, perhaps, the poisoned raven that has followed the men of the Stefano family for generations? Was it because he lost his job or was it God? Pornography or television?
Trying to find answers to the questions raised by his brother's death, Lou Stefano embarks on a pilgrimage to the past, to the innermost depths of his own soul, to the desires, inhibitions and confusion that possess him. But what if there are no answers? If there aren't specific reasons why we do what we do and love who we love? Then the best Lou can hope for is to exorcise his ghosts. An electrifying novel from the author of Frontline, The Jesus Man sets off explosions in readers' consciousnesses
