Or rather, an apprentice thief. And, a pirate's daughter. And, smuggler. And, burglar. In a world ruled by alchemists mixing magic and science, the only mystery Ruby can rely on is her skill and cunning. Commonly: fraud and theft.
And so things went, until he got involved in the robbery of a young aristocratic lord. Now, Ruby's father is captured and she must disappear into the heart of a big city full of honest and treacherous characters. Because behind her she feels the hot breath of those who are looking for her: the Royal Navy and the heads of a notorious secret society.
You see, Ruby has a secret. A secret that even she doesn't know.
The world is full of people who will help her and people who will use her for their own dark purposes. Is there anyone Ruby can trust? Could it be that she can't even trust herself?
