The Graphic Novel that was the inspiration for the movie of the same name!

On March 1, 1953, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union – Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin – suffers a severe stroke.

No doctor may be called until the Central Committee meets, puts the matter to a vote, and thus decides which doctor will take over. The Central Committee has another difficulty to face: the fact that Comrade Stalin had just ordered the execution of the leading doctors of the Soviet Union! And so begins a bureaucratic merry-go-round, which soon develops into a battle to conquer the top of power in the vast Soviet state...

Russia is considering banning the film The Death of Stalin - a Culture Ministry adviser says the film is a "premeditated provocation", possibly part of a Western plot to destabilize Russia.

The illustration at hand is therefore based on the distance it takes from History. He reconstructs it to reveal its fundamental essence. What is important here is not the accuracy of the facts, but the authenticity of the point of view.

Nouri and Robben's work impressively recreates the grim and gloomy atmosphere of the circles that ruled the Kremlin at the end of Stalin's bloody regime.

Khrushchev recalled: "We, who were around Stalin, were death row prisoners on parole." Fear lurked everywhere, and everyone displayed a disgusting servitude.
The two authors recreate this atmosphere using multiple methods of exaggeration: they go to extremes and underline the absurd, marrying the confirmed event with the real, the imaginary with the symbolic; they shift some events and their stages in time, condense time or they twist a fact so as to ultimately render an image often truer than the truth of the facts themselves.
