Flash Thompson – once Peter Parker's tormentor, later his loyal friend – is Spider-Man's biggest fan. This hero worship inspired him to join the army, where he was decorated as a veteran and war hero. And even though he lost his legs, Flash never lost his dignity – or his desire to serve his country.

Now, the government offers him a chance to be a hero again – donning the alien symbiotic organism that gives the wearer Spider-Man-like powers, but also puts him in danger of permanently bonding with the parasitic creature. Flash Thompson is Venom, the government's deadliest special agent – sent into the hottest war zones against the state's worst enemies. He has fought tough opponents in the past, but the toughest opponent he will face may be himself.
