Unspeakable Confessions contains short stories that will take your breath away. Confessions of damned souls flirting with madness. Haunted houses, terrifying icons of lost civilizations, curses, bottomless wells with ancient secrets, nightmares and all this within a framework of "romantic horror", with amazing descriptions and philosophical implications. Stories plucked from the darkness of the 19th century with Lovecraftian beauty and pedestrian insanity. The reader is immersed in a gothic universe of primordial secrets, while marveling at the questions of life and death posed by the author, artfully philosophizing. Elsewhere the agony and the gradual descent into madness, and elsewhere the allusive horror that lingers, fascinate and captivate. “Dear reader, it would have been better if I had not taken this step. It is better for man, when he sees the limits of his nature, to be careful not to go beyond them, because many times worldly evil wanders around and above the sphere of his action. When it finds the smallest space it will enter, and like black ink it will pour over the man and consume him. We are just the puppets of a higher game being played against us, because there is little we know. For others, religious faith and for others, science, are poles of relief. But the real answers are around us, in front of us, but unfortunately we don't see them, and when a person with a different relationship, with what we usually call morality, suspects something, he is either driven to madness, or sinks into an otherworldly abyss, where rationality and faith seem like insignificant particles scattered in the vastness of the universe." A few words about the author: George Pol. Papadakis was born in Athens and has studied Mathematics, Informatics, Statistics, Eph. Research and European Culture. He is engaged in writing literature and poetry and has been distinguished in many literary competitions in all kinds of speech, with the most important being his award from the Parnassos Philological Association in prose in 2002 (fictional short story). He is a member of the Society of Greek Writers and deputy director of the journal Spiritual Life. His studies, articles and poems have been published many times in magazines and newspapers.
