There is a different, a unique "race" of people, whose common passion marks them, guides them and makes them stand out.

They are all those who, without knowing how and why, found themselves deeply and forever in love with something that is definitely inanimate. A few pieces of iron joined together, a machine, a means of transport.

However prosaic you may see it from the outside, ultimately for them, this machine takes on substance, breathes, lives and through shared journeys, they give each other affection, strength and meaning to carry on.

Little by little the being and the thing become one, with the result that the machines resemble people and the people resemble the machines, the people speak to the machines and they in turn, somehow, respond.

The Mechanical people they are all those who, in the stories of this book, will recognize, will find a part of themselves, their friend, their life. They are the ones who have similar stories to tell, lived and live a special life that most people cannot understand.

There are many clichés... Freedom, road, speed, but in reality they are much, much more and complex.

The Mechanical people they are unique… unique and beautiful!

  1. Giannaki Tania

    Just perfect!!!

  2. Demosthenes

    Excellent

  3. Kralis Dimitris

Excellent writing that touches the soul

  4. Nikos Nakos

Sensitive writing from an old mechanic and eternal teenager.
In his stories you will identify with one of the engineers.
Stories that move water and enliven our images and memories

  5. Lefteris

Amazing book, stories that make you cry, either from laughter or from emotion. If you are an engineer, you will feel at home, if not, it is the best way to understand them, to see what they live, how they live it, but also why. A big window into a part of society that for years was on the sidelines, fingered and devalued.
The "bums" who maybe aren't so much after all...

  6. You stood

A wonderful book, which will accompany you on summer vacations as well as in the winter tinkering in the garage...
Full of stories that you will definitely identify with and feel like the character of the story

  7. Babis

    Excellent…!!!!!!!

  8. VASILIS MITSIOS (verified owner)

I dare say. Something from Burroughs, Kerouac……. Something that I personally had years to read from a Greek author. Well done. Keep being who you are. Authentic. Write back, because you represent many of us…even if we took another intersection along the way.

One of those mysterious, taciturn, who once sat in a GARAGE, always alone in the corner.

I discovered Yannis Siderakis - or rather his pen - by chance from a Facebook share. Naturally I joined the group and fell head over heels into reading his texts.
I bought the book "Mechanists" with unbridled enthusiasm. What I want to emphasize is that the reader doesn't even have to have anything to do with machines. His stories may be woven around motorcycles, but they concern the general whole. Most are melancholic and distinctly emotional. Reading it reminded me of texts by Samarakis (from "I refuse" & "Hope is wanted)
I highly recommend it to EVERYONE and look forward to his next books!!
*Small tip: Avoid reading in public, on a train for example, especially if you don't have tissues with you!
