THE PALE SITRIVANIA OF FOKIONOS NEGRIS: "Over there in Negri, you doll, is it as you describe it to me?" Were such scenes made? Did they come out like that or did you miss them a bit? Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Rita Cadillac, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Onassis, Zozara Sapundzakis, Belmondo, Elytis, Ethnarch Karamanlis, Ritsos, Zozo Dalmas, Agnostos Polemos and Las Vegas, just like you described the place to me?"

A tribute to the most rock 'n' roll pedestrian street of Athens

The Acid publications are happy to present the new book by Stefanos Tsitsopoulos, "The Pale Fountains of Fokion Negri", a paean in the neighborhood of Kypseli, a voluptuous fresco of the period, a novel with characters that acrobat on the borders of reality and fantasy.

Stefanos Tsitsopoulos takes the readers on a dizzying speed roller-coaster of decades, to meet real and non-existent people. From the Ramones and Milto Shaktouri to George Lanthimos, Yiannis Nasta of Xaxakes, the prankster Kanaris, Eric Clapton, but also Milto Rogotis, two ladies with dyed siel wool, the stripper Rita Kadilak and two close friends, Lina and Lilica – all protagonists of the book.

A meeting point, socializing, adventure and action, the legendary (pedestrian) road of Fokionos Negri, from Patision to Kypseli Square. From the prose of the book, the most important landmarks of Kypseli, the Select cafe, the gothic disco Rebound, the old pizzeria of Paezano, the legendary club Quinta and the "best bar in the world after Thermaikos" Au Revoir, jump out like an image of augmented reality. .

Time, joy, melancholy, repentance, travel, poetry, the loss of love, the right-waiting for happiness but also the conscious choice of loneliness as a permanent state of mourning, cross the book rushing like the torrent they say how it still flows under the Statue of the Dog and the fountains of Phokion.
