THE AGE OF AXOLOTL

Technological assumptions are deployed to illuminate human problems, and human problems give rise to technological speculation through three science fiction stories: THE AGE OF AXOLOTL: The nameless vessel proves inadequate for a journey with purpose and destination, the passengers wiped of their racial memory any memory of their ancestral habitat. Isolated on the top deck, a strange resident, works silently on their behalf bearing the stigma of otherness. But when suddenly the biological clock starts to turn back... And the modified specimens of homo sapiens are faced with problems that fall out of their genetic design... This very otherness may be a way out. ASENATH: On a post-apocalyptic earth an interstellar traveler, humanized for the needs of his mission, discovers that his familiarity with the distortions of time, space, and causality is unable to protect him from discovering that he is not the only one with her secret of night. COMING-OF-YOUR NIGHT: A night of events, and unexpected side effects begin to manifest in two students' private alien intelligence research program, unconcerned by the fact that their radio signal detection equipment is limited to a television antenna. Issues of bioethics, question of self-determination and distribution of roles, reason to re-evaluate aspects of human evolution in an environment where alienation and lack of destination are natural laws.
