It was a diet she couldn't sustain for long.

With the title of the book, from a lyric of his song, Extreme Ways, candidly reveals his struggle with depression and abuse. He does not hide that he thought of death as redemption and begins the book by describing how he wanted to end his life.

Musician memoirs have no value when they are only aimed at fans. Rather, they have no value when they are only aimed at music lovers who they crave the background of the pop culture that nurtured them. An autobiographical book is useful when it subtly conveys its ideas, when it has essential story to be narrated and when written with directness.
