EYES
It is very easy to criticize a book like Matias, by Jesus Ignatio Aldapuerta.
Open it randomly to any page and chances are you will read the – excruciatingly detailed – description of a sadistic torture. A necrophiliac rape. A death. For those who like unrelenting gore (pardon the pun), this collection of short stories is filthy horror porn. A finger forcefully shoved into the reader's mouth, trying to make it dry as fast as possible. We, at OKY publications, have a different opinion, which is why we decided to publish it.
EYES
Jesus Ignacio Aldapuerta was born in Seville around 1950 and died in Madrid in 1987. He set himself on fire in his room. All we know about him is that he spent much of his life outside of Spain, in Central and South America as well as the Philippines. Exactly what he did there remains uncertain, and the confirmation or refutation of the numerous and variedly negative and contradictory rumors that circulated about him during his lifetime remains uncertain. We will have to wait for the decryption of his encrypted journals to be completed.
What is certain is that Aldapuerta, before ending his life, managed to capture on paper some of the most horrific and hideous dreams that haunted his turbulent life. Some of these writings are presented today to the numerous followers of his work, in the form of the anthology MATIA. This collection amply proves that Aldapuerta will go down in history as the strangest continuation of the tradition of the Marquis de Sade, a tradition that dared to give flesh and bones to the darkest, repulsive but real aspects of the human psyche.
