IN THE TWILIGHT OF THE TIMES

The new poetry collection "In the Twilight of Times" by Professor and Writer Giorgos Pol. Papadaki is an epitome of diverse aesthetic and contemplative pursuits. Within this poetic puzzle currents, moods, and inner searches co-exist, in a world which, according to the poet, is leading to cultural alienation, but as always the light is there, as long as one can distinguish it. The philosophical reflection, the lyrical mood, but also the hyperrealistic perspective, compose an anxiety and a search that will deeply move the discerning reader, as well as the dreamy traveler. Papadakis looks for the roots of his poetry from the mythologies of the distant past, in the paths of Hesiod, in the fairy tale, but also in the robust modern contemplative discourse. It manages to take us on a journey through allegorical fantasy structures and shock us. "Slowly, as time passed, I accepted the truth, no state existed, no light illuminated the dust from my eyes, only a small bright beam reflected the moonlight far away, under the great hill that the ancients called " Black Great Rock' Within the Ancient states are the trees of knowledge, there on the banks of the river Gammon. The dance of the angels holds well and fleeting worries disappear in the light of the face. Do not wonder, dear reader, with very few exceptions it is time, there under the streams of the moon, to turn a summer page. A few words about the author: George Pol. Papadakis was born in Athens and has studied Mathematics, Informatics, Statistics, Eph. Research and European Culture. He is engaged in writing literature and poetry and has been distinguished in many literary competitions in all kinds of speech, with the most important being his award from the Parnassos Philological Association in prose in 2002 (fictional short story). He is a member of the Society of Greek Writers and deputy director of the journal Spiritual Life. His studies, articles and poems have been published many times in magazines and newspapers.
