Shadow voices

The protagonist of the book Shadow Voices is Lia, a beautiful tomboy in the countryside, from a young age she is tested in life.

A rape victim of her uncle, a victim of society in the village, a victim of herself in what she tries to perceive about the future.

Some inexplicable voices between wakefulness and slumber, a troubled love far from its peace and instinct, follow her through the passing years.

Her life unfolds in difficult times with wars, upheavals, adventures, strangeness and contingencies that she must overcome in order to continue. She realizes that nothing is random and that every moment is another experiential passage, difficult or easy depending on her choices. 

In time, her simple awareness helps her to understand that life is a momentary opportunity and all the rest remain like light-filled shadows that follow existence.

A novel based on the heroine's quests, life's obstacles, the power of the mind and soul, but also the instinct that never ceases to be the protector of each one of us.

Grigoris G. Spyrakis was born in Platana, Arcadia and studied Law, Political and Economic Sciences at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is a lawyer in Athens, he served as Director of Legal Services of the Postal Savings Bank and legal advisor of the Embassy of Kuwait.
