 "When Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from a restless sleep, he found himself in his bed transformed into a huge bug. he was lying on his back, his back was as hard as armour, and when he raised his head a little he saw his turgid brown belly cut in slices, over which it was impossible for the coverings to stand; he was left almost uncovered. His innumerable little legs, pitifully thin compared to the rest of his body, swayed helplessly before his very eyes.'

That's how it starts one of the most important short stories of the 20th century, THE TRANSFORMATION. A fundamental part of his work Franz Kafka, the Transformation it is a huge living nightmare that hides all the intensity and grandeur of the Czech writer's imagination. THE illustration of the great Argentinian artist Luis Scafati it admirably brings the atmosphere and characters of the story to life, inviting the reader on an unforgettable adventure.

In his article in the electronic cultural magazine Fractal, entitled "Symbolism in the Metamorphosis of Franz Kafka", o Kyriakos Chalkopoulos, states among other things:  Metamorfosis begins with the unmistakable indication that Gregor Samsa has been transformed into a human-sized insect. This change is not attributed to anything, although Samsa himself, as long as he is still in the mood to think about the matter, treats it as the interest of his tiresome and dead-end life as a placeholder, a life which, after all, he owes to his family's debts , which he had undertaken to destroy. In the end he disappears, and at the same time his family's prospects seem better, as if all their problems were due to him.
