MICROMEGAS

Micromegas, a giant space traveler from the distant planet Sirius, roaming the universe in company with a somewhat smaller inhabitant of Saturn, makes a chance stop on our little Earth in the life-saving year 1737 and, quite unexpectedly, meets a group of distinguished scientists of the human species – who, by the way, are barely discernible at the tip of his fingernail. Result of all this? A short but unique interplanetary dialogue, from the pen of the "giant" Voltaire, who, in addition to being the founder of the Enlightenment, may also have invented it with him Micromega of what we now call "science fiction".

Francois Marie Arrouet (François-Marie Arouet, November 21 1694 – May 30 1778), better known by the pseudonym Voltaire (Voltaire), it was French author, historian and philosopher, famous for his wit, his attacks on the Catholic Church and his defense of secularism, her freedom of speech and the separation of church and state.
