WORLD TRAVEL: INDOCHINA
The last night was full of pleasures, emotions and ghosts with that sweet futility of the future deaths weighing on our hearts like an adulterated drug. Gods, demons, heavenly dancers, mythical monsters, elves and dead kings, all of whom we met in the last few days had come, I suppose, to say goodbye. Every moment became eternity and the hourglass of time, tick-tock tick-tock, dwindled, dwindled, bringing closer to the mouth the medicine of parting. Without medicine, however, you do not eat the honey of life. And the soul needs honey a lot, because otherwise it slows down, languishes...
This "honey of life" flows abundantly in Giorgos Karampelas' Indochina, so the sweet journey to the lands of love and the kingdoms of light becomes a medicine for the soul in our gloomy times. The author wanders incessantly in a distant place, endowed with exotic colors, emerald waters, tropical vegetation and an ancient culture, but with fresh memories of nightmarish wars. Each photo transports us to the tropical jungles and majestic monuments that unfold around the Mekong. Each page leads us to secret paths, unknown tribes, lakeside settlements, gustatory extremes and rare experiences.
